Susan Aparicio is a southeast LA native, a daughter of Mexican and Honduran parents, and a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary artist specializing in the mediums of stained glass and video installation. Her work melds the vibrancy of 2000's and 2010's pop culture with the heartache and sense of humor that raised her in southeast LA in the age of the internet. Recognized for its holy iconography, stained glass as a medium has allowed her to venture into the material of worship and desire, fulfilling her appreciation of bling and beauty, and thinking of access and the idea of aspirations. Her video works explore the allure of past technologies with contemporary reflections, experimenting with the complex relationship between nostalgia, reality, and the ever-evolving digital landscape. She earned dual BA degrees in Studio Art and Cognitive Science from the University of Virginia in 2018. She then earned her MFA in Art from UCLA in 2022. She is currently based in Pasadena, CA.

David Askew (they/them) is a Black, Queer, Non-binary oil painter whose work navigates the complex intersections of identity, sexuality, and societal constructs. Through the creation of human-animal hybrids, they explore themes of self-identity and the nuanced experiences of queerness, blackness, and racial ambiguity. These beings serve as powerful symbols, confronting the hyper-sexualization, animalization, and exoticization often associated with Askew’s identity in mainstream narratives. Through their art, David Askew invites viewers to engage in conversations surrounding identity, representation, and the complexities of navigating intersecting marginalized identities in a society that often seeks to categorize and exoticize them. Their paintings serve as both a celebration of individuality and a critique of the systems that seek to suppress it. Askew received dual BA degrees in Studio Art and Women, Gender, and Sexuality studies from the University of Virginia in 2022. They are based in Brooklyn, New York.
